Resumo: For an adequate use of the available water resources in water reservoirs is necessary, among others, the previous and systemic knowledge of the depth of these places. Within this context, periodic bathymetric surveys are performed, traditionally using echo-meters and conventional topography techniques. The present work had as objective the analysis of the siltation degree of one of the impoundments located in the Federal University of Viçosa, in Viçosa - MG, applying as primitive a topobatimetric survey carried out in 1998. These data were compared with a bathymetric survey carried out in 2012, that is, data obtained 14 years later. The water volumes were measured by Digital Depth Models and also CAV curves, as recommended by the joint resolution ANA / ANELL. This comparison showed the effectiveness and applicability of these techniques, noting considerable changes in the water capacity of the studied body of water. Through this analysis it was also possible to evaluate the positive impacts of a dewatering process of the studied reservoir.
