OBJECTIVE: To verify an association between clinical, nutritional and functional characteristics and longitudinal quality of life in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis.METHODS: Observe measures related to demographic characteristics (sex and age), clinical (pulmonary function test and type of genetic mutation), nutritional (weight, height, body mass index by age and height by age), functional capacity (distance covered in the 6-minute walk test and manual pressure force applied to dynamometry) and quality of life through the quality of life questionnaire in cystic fibrosis. He performed a linear regression model to assess associated factors such as the percentage limits of quality of life questionnaire in cystic fibrosis domains common to all age groups, considering a percentage variation of these domains in the period from 2017 to 2019.RESULTS: Functional capacity is related to the physical, social, food and treatment domains, presenting a direct proportional relationship. In addition, the presence of bacterial colonization negatively influenced the respiratory domain.CONCLUSIONS: Changes in clinical and functional characteristics are associated with changes in the domains of quality of life of children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis over two years.
