OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the Quality of Life and fear related to the Sars-CoV-2pandemic among students of Health Sciences in public and private HigherEducation Institutions (HEIs) in the interior of the state of Goiás.METHODS: Cross-sectional study, Students from the courses of Biomedicine,Physical Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine and Nutrition, who wereproperly enrolled in their HEI, over 18 years old, of both genders, were included. To assess the Quality of Life, the WHOQOL-bref instrument (Portuguese version)was used. For statistical analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Shapiro-Wilk test(p> 0.05) and t test for independent samples (p <0.05) were used.RESULTS: The sample consisted of 119 participants, of which 83.2% studied at thepublic HEI (n=99), with a predominance of 76.5% female students (n=91). Themean of the QOL domains of the public and private HEI groups were, respectively:physical 62,8 (±16,6) and 63,2 (±19,8), psychological 56.9 (±17,7) and 52,0 (±23,9),social relationships 61,1 (±21,0) and 57,5 (±20,9), environment 62,6 (±12,9) and62,5 (±16,0), and general QoL 60,9 (±13,4) e 58,8 (±16,6). It was also observedthat 53.8% (n=64) of the participants reported being very or completely afraid ofthe coronavirus at the beginning of the pandemic.CONCLUSIONS: Social distancing, the atypical period provided by the pandemicand the fear of Sars-CoV-2 generated a moderate overall QoL in Health Sciencesstudents. The most affected domains were the psychological and socialrelationships.
