This paper aims to analyze the variation of the basic indicators of the Muncipal Human Development Index (MHDI) in the Western Region of Parana, using a Shift-share methodology in 2000 and 2010. Are used primary data published by the brazilian states and municipalities by the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD, 2003 and 2013). After applying the Shift-share, identifies which municipalities in the region had the largest and smallest variations of each basic indicator of MHDI. However, for the reference years, all municipalities had positive change in MHDI. Only the city of Assis Chateaubriand had negative change of MHDI-Income in the period. The other forty-nine municipalities had positive changes in all basic indicators components of MHDI. Finally, the results of the Shiftshare metodology allowed to classify municipalities into four distinct types of cities (A1, A3, B2 and B3). |
