Resumo: OBJECTIVE: To compare the lifestyle indicators in group of students with better and worse QoL perception score reported by university students living in student housing.METHODS: Cross-sectional study with assessment of sociodemographic and economic characteristics, level of physical activity, quality of life, body composition and frequency of food consumption. sociodemographic characteristics, physical activity, quality of life, nutritional status, biochemical data and blood pressure were assessed. The comparison test T Student and Mann-Whitney test were applied. Considered as p <0.05.RESULTS: There were 79 students, 59.5% female and 46.8% aged between 20 and 23 years. Concerning the level of physical activity, only 16.5% reported low levels of physical activity. As for the perception of quality of life, the physical domain had the highest score and the lowest environment. The variables nutritional status, biochemical data and blood pressure were normal average values. As for food intake, rice, beans and vegetables were the foods most frequently. lower consumption were snacks and natural and artificial drinks without added sugar. The comparison between the groups with better and worse perception of quality of life, it was observed that the group with worse perception in the physical domain showed worse values for anthropometric variables waist circumference and blood pressure.CONCLUSIONS: The most active participants were the best scores of quality of life, waist circumference and blood pressure, highlighting the physical activity as a health promotion tool.
