Resumo: It was performed the evaluation of a constructed wetland through the use of ashes from biomass combustion of rice-husk-ash as a substrate layer for wastewater treatment, which was tested for its ability clearance of the effluent as an alternative method for wastewater secondary treatment. They had been analyzed the following parameters: BOD5, Oxygen Demand, phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, electrical conductivity, pH, color and turbidity. These parameters were measured for a period of approximately four months on incoming effluent samples, effluent coming from the Unisinos wastewater treatment plant, and the output effluent of the two wetlands (system with gray and no gray). The expected results are the development of appropriate methodology for sanitary effluent purification based experimentation; developing a wastewater purifier system using a solid industrial waste and reduction of RSI arrangement in landfills by providing an applicability reasons the same and alternative to the partial replacement of a natural resource nonrenewable, which tends to be prone to shortages.
