Resumo: OBJECTIVE: To develop a model based on fuzzy logic, with the purpose of supporting the decision making by the managers of marble factory, in order to make this work environment a more suitable place to work.METHODS: In order to elaborate the model, basic knowledge of ergonomics was used in relation to noise, dust, vibration and illumination situations, based on regulatory norms (NR) elaborated by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) and approved by the Occupational Health Medical Control Program (PCMSO) with the objective of promoting and preserving workers' health. A case study was applied in a marble work located in the northern plateau of Santa Catarina state. Guided by the theoretical reference of Iida, Kroemer and Grandjean (2005), this study evaluated the existing ergonomic conditions, considering the ideal conditions to work in the lapidary branch.RESULTS: The model presented numerical results, through the use of qualitative-quantitative input variables, which are the motto of fuzzy logic.CONCLUSIONS: As a result, the analysis of supporting decision-making legitimized the use of the model as a contribution to the choices of the manager, through a decision tree model top-down.
