Resumo: The high demand for geospatial data and the requirements of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (Infraestrutura Nacional de Dados Espaciais - INDE) to map the Brazilian territory in a dynamic way required modernization in the process of data collection. In this context, the Reambulation process has great importance in acquiring attributes of features. The Geographical Service Board (Diretoria de Serviço Geográfico - DSG), with the aim of standardizing and optimize the Reambulation, developed a methodology that approach the current technologies of SIG, accordingly the technical specifications of geographic data production in Brazil. Thus, the present work presents the technological innovations, the methodology applied for geospatial data collection and how the Reambulation is performed by the DSG, through the Third Geoinformation Center (3º Centro de Geoinformação – 3º CGEO) for the Bahia Mapping Project (in Brazil), exploring the activities of Preparation, Execution and Review. In the final considerations, it is concluded that the recent technical specifications of the INDE provide detailed and essential information about the current situation of a topographic map.
