Evaluation of the gravimetric network expansion and the topography influence on the solution of the short wavelengths in the Brazilian geoidal model 2015 for the south region of Minas Gerais

In this context, the usage of the Geoidal Models (GM) to determine the altitudes with a physical meaning improved together with the spatial era.  MAPGEO2015 is the most recent Brazilian Geoidal Model (GM), produced and provided by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) and by the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo – Poli/USP. This research, using the spectral decomposition, analyzed the variations between the new product and its old version and used from SAT/GPS terrestrial stations to compare. Using the decomposition of the short wavelengths also evaluated the real variation between the models and if those were significant and lastly if the topography gradient was related to the variability in the models. With all the steps concluded, it was verified that the discrepancy between the Geoidal Models did not presented any significant difference as was expected, this fact can be caused by the empty gravimetric data areas in the Brazilian northern region, degrading in certain ways the data that could present better results if regional models were created.
