This work presents an introduction to the principles, ideas, advantages, and disadvantages, as well as different works that have been using Fuzzy Logic as a study tool, with a focus on Science. Logic is the science that aims to study the reasoning laws. Classical logic is since Aristotle's time where is based on the bivalence of T (true) or F (false). Fuzzy logic is based on the theory of fuzzy sets. From the 70s, fuzzy logic was disseminated in industrial applications, after countless frustrated attempts by Prof. Mandani to control a steam engine with different controllers, achieving good results from the fuzzy system. Over the decades, its use has been advancing in different areas of studies, research, and development. It is worth mentioning that, currently, fuzzy logic is fundamental for applications in uncertain areas, where from this one can quantify and qualify the variables studied. |
