Resumo: This paper discusses a case study in depth about an electrical phenomenon in facilities known as harmonics, covering the full range of study that involves their behavior, divided into topics that would be needed to further knowledge of practical methodology later. Firstly, the definition and perception of harmonics, causes and effects, the calculations related to the regulations and recommendations involved analyzers and energy that would be used for measurement were studied. Then the procedures for measuring harmonics were studied, and well organized with a roadmap of cargo selection and measuring points which would be necessary to achieve the proposed objective comparison of the two analyzers used and also the various regulations that were surveyed. The measurement procedures and data acquisition were detailed in the work and results discussed on the basis of analysis software analyzers. At the end of all organized, calculated and compared with the standards, measurements verified the condition of the facility in relation to the harmonics, and the need to recommend improvements and suggestions for controlling the movement thereof. At the end it was concluded that applying the knowledge gained with improvements to the plant comprising the effects of harmonics and applying filters or reactors, can be effective for energy quality facilities industries that have the same load profile, especially the chemical sector.
