This dissertation wants to elucidate how the FACTS technology applied in electricity transmission networks can largely solve the problems of the SEE (System Electrical Energy) that could be basically resumed in three aspects: distance of transmission, system stability and the power flow control. The technical aspects of the application of FACTS Controllers (flexible alternate current transmission systems) will be presented in the operation of the SEE. The models of FACTS controllers considered for simulations in this research are: TSSC (Thyristor Switched Series Compensator) and TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator). To evaluate the technical aspects of the operation in steady state of the FACTS, was utilized the ANAREDE software provided by Cepel (Research Center for Electric Energy) of the power flow calculation based on Newton-Raphson method. The FACTS Controllers studied was applied to IEEE 14-bus test system. The analysis of the results obtained in the tests indicates that the operation of the SEE that has FACTS is more flexible with benefits such as: increase active power transfer lines, as well as better control of active and reactive power flows in the lines, highlighted objective of this work. |
