Resumo: This work aims to evaluate the performance of optical fiber sensors for thermal mapping of electrical machines, specifically Bragg networks, as well as to validate and present the calibration results of the proposed model. The thermal mapping of electrical machines is essential from the point of view of an efficient operation and preventive action on insulation faults, current surges and electrical voltage. Thus, a sensing system that reliably operates within its application conditions is required, and methods that allow the system or operator to act based on the results obtained. The thermal mapping using quasi-distributed optical sensors will be applied in electric machines, raising the uncertainties, negative and positive points in the application of FBG sensors in the thermal sensing of electric machines, and more specifically in electric motors.
