Resumo: This paper discusses a case study on the implementation of a distributed photovoltaic system in a residential building. First, the definition of the photovoltaic system, its operation, the regulations and recommendations involved, the integral parts of the system, the calculations related to the production of solar energy according to the location and layout of the installation were studied. Next, the procedures for installing the system were studied, and thus the selection of the necessary equipment to guarantee the production of electrical energy required by the building was done. The measurement and data acquisition procedures were detailed in the paper and the results discussed based on the energy production analysis software. At the end of all the measures organized, calculated, and verified the cost of installing the system and compared to the cost of energy charged by the Copel concessionaire, it was verified the feasibility of system implementation and payback time, a comparison was made between the Installation of the system and a bank investment. At the end it was concluded that the photovoltaic system is more economically interesting for the residential building, besides contributing to the generation of energy in a clean and renewable way.
