Renewable energy sources enable more sustainable development, diversify Brazil’s energy matrix, and mitigate the socio-environmental impacts of traditional energy sources. As a result, renewable energy sources have increasingly been promoted as an alternative to traditional energy sources. Solar energy, either from Isolated or Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems, is a renewable energy source that provides a clean, reliable, and effective alternative to traditional energy sources. Photovoltaic systems, despite their advantages to traditional energy sources, as in any real system, have losses inherent to it. This paper focuses on four gridconnected photovoltaic systems in Curitiba: Green Office and Neoville UTFPR systems, ELCO and ELCOSUL. The paper identifies and presents a detailed study of the major power loss factors in each system by analyzing the topology, equipment technologies and performance parameters of each system. Furthermore, the paper will present a qualitative analysis of the factors that have the most impact on photovoltaic system performance. |
