The work was aimed at the study of the standard IEC 61850, in order to build an academic work that established a connection between theoretical background and a case study. An important goal is to provide students and researchers with a material that contains an illuminating summary of the standard origin, a theoretical background guided and in the end relate the content in a clear and objective way with a real application. The work is divided into four main parts, a first discussion about the origin and a historical context of the norm, a second approach, a theoretical survey, a third one has an explanation about the practical case to be studied, and finally, an analysis of the application, relating the theoretical content to a practice. |
