Resumo: This study presents the development of a force measuring system for application in bodybuilding gyms in order to provide physical education teachers new tools to monitor their athletes and have a more detailed quantitative analysis of their movements. To reach these goals, weight machines and how they work is studied in order to plan the best way to apply the measuring system. Also, the load cell, one of the most widely used forms of measuring tensile stress at present is studied. The study includes comparative between the materials and geometries, seeking to obtain a compact and lightweight cell to resist the efforts made in bodybuilding. For the manufacture of the cell, budgets and manufacturing processes are studied, seeking affordable and good reliability so that the measured data are more accurate. In manufacturing the strain gage bonding in the cell is also included. So is the construction of an electrical circuit and the development of an application, resulting in a force measuring system. Obtained the system, experiments are carried out to confirm its functionality and cited positive and negative points.
