Following the world trend of globalization and ever faster growth, Brazil has one of the world’s largest economies, but still lacks development in some areas, such as infrastructure and logistics. Within this topic, the main emphasis and concern point is transportation, whether passengers or freight. This paper’s focus is the air mode of cargo transportation, with comments on its links with other modes, importance, advantages and disadvantages. It will be presented data concerning some Brazilian highlight airports – emphasis on Afonso Pena airport – and international ones. All of them are compared and ranked, in smaller groups first and then all together. Using for this purpose some concepts and tools of logistics, statistical and multivariate data analysis area, besides some efficiency indicators presented and discussed in national and international published papers. |
