One way of joining metal surfaces is the use of adhesives. These adhesives can be derived from petroleum, but with the inconvenience of having solvents in its composition, which can cause environmental, health and safety problems. The polyurethane adhesive derived from castor oil has advantages when compared to petroleum as it is derived from renewable raw, biodegradable material, and do not use solvents in its composition. In this paper it was analyzed the adhesiveness of this adhesive on ABNT 1020 steel with different roughness using mechanical tests of uniaxial tensile and shear. It can be concluded that with increasing of roughness, a decrease on the breakdown tension is noticed. |
