Resumo: Man-machine interaction brings risks inherent in the health of the worker. The Regulatory Norm 12 (NR-12), which establishes minimum requirements for the protection of workers in regard to accidents and occupational diseases, is designed to protect this population. This standard is subject to reformulations prepared by representatives of the state, business and workers. By means of risk assessment methods according to the current technical standards, the hazards that the operation or maintenance of a hydraulic bender can generate are estimated. The Hazard Number Rating methodology was used for risk estimation and subsequent decision-making on the adoption of measures. In cases of need for a reduction in the level of risks, priority was given to actions to comply with the requirements of the norm, with the implementation of safety devices that have appropriate category to the degree of risk established. Finally, the economic feasibility analysis for the implementation of the established measures was made, which showed how this process can be costly to the companies.
