Resumo: The Joule-Thomson coefficient is a fluid thermophysical property which shows the temperature change due an isenthalpic pressure drops. The knowledge of this property is very important to many industries, and mainly to the oil and gas industry. This paper intends to develop a methodology in order to calculate the Joule-Thomson coefficient using the Equations of State: SRK (Soave-Redlich-Kwong) and CPA (Cubic-PlusAssociation). This methodology will use only the initial temperature and pressure and the fluid composition which one is intended to find that coefficient. For comparison of the obtained results with the proposed methodology will be used data from literature such as experimental data, molecular simulation and the NIST data base.
