Resumo: The native fruit trees are gain attention by producers and consumers, since the fruits produced are considered as functional food. Nevertheless, even with such potential for use in agriculture, they have been little explored commercially. In this sense, studies should be encouraged to use in future breeding programs and technologies for their production. However, the phenological characterization and the appropriate comparison of these native fruit trees are difficult, since there is no phenological scale for these species. Globally, the so-called BBCH is used among the scales, which allows a standardization for fruit tree phenological studies and it can be adapted to native fruit trees. The objective of this work was to characterize the development of flowers and fruits of the Surinan cherry tree, forest cherry tree, jabutica tree and yellow araça tree by the scale BBCH use. The phenological scale characterization was carried out in the area with native fruit tree collection at UTFPR - Câmpus Dois Vizinhos – Paraná State, Brazil. For this work, the phenology of these native species was characterized throughout the year and adapted to the BBCH code. The phenological stages of surinan cherry tree, forest cherry tree, jabutica tree and yellow araça tree were first described according to the BBCH scale, where it was possible to differentiate the vegetative and reproductive stages. This description is very important to provide basic information on the needs of these fruit native trees and to cultural practices.
