Resumo: This work was objectives study the physiological maturation point, indicate the appropriate time to collect seeds of forest species Trichilia elegans of occurrence in the region of Dois Vizinhos-PR, check the time required for fruit formation after anthesis; indicate the physiological maturation index most appropriate for the species. 12 trees were selected motherboards that had good plant health, in a forest fragment located near UTFPR -DV. To determine the fruit formation period were conducted weekly visits from the opening of the flower bud to fruit formation. The collection of fruits and seeds was carried out at intervals of seven days from the time of formation of the same. The collected material was sent to the LAS-UTFPR-DV for the following evaluations: physical analysis of the fruits and seeds size, water content and weight of a thousand seeds. Physiological analysis of germination, germination speed index (GSI). The experimental design used was completely randomized (DIC) with 10 treatments corresponding to stages of maturation, later held ANOVA and comparison of means by Tukey test at the level of 1% probability. It is necessary that 35 days after anthesis for fruit formation of Trichilia elegans. The most appropriate indices to indicate the physiological maturity point of the species studied were the size of seeds and seeds dry weight. The maturation stage more suitable for the collection of seeds Trichilia elegans occurs at 85 days after flowering in the seventh stage of maturation. The flowering and fruiting period studied during the months from February to May is important to perform the collection in the third week of April.
