Resumo: The Jirau Alto Municipal Park is located in the city of Dois Vizinhos, which features typical components of Semideciduous Forest and Araucaria Forest. The objective of this study is to characterize through phytosociological analysis, the tree community in a forest fragment located in the Municipal Park track Jirau Alto. They were installed 8 systematic plots of 20 x 20 m each 130 m for sampling adult stratum, small tree and young plant. In the adult stratum, they were sampling all individuals with CAP [>=] 15 cm, totaling 1,409 arv. ha-1 and basal area of 34.06 m².ha-1. The species of greatest VI and CV was Ocotea puberula with 14.88% and 11.37%, respectively. In small tree layer (1 cm <PAD [<=] 5 cm) was a total of 103 sampled individuals and basal area of 1.19 m².ha-1. The species with the highest VI, VC and higher density was Muellera campestris, with 18.2%, 23.5% and 687.50 arv. ha-1, respectively. In the young plant stratum (CAD <1 cm and H> 50 cm), we sampled a total of 128 individuals. The species with the highest number of individuals was Parapiptadenia rigida with 29 individuals. In the three strata were sampled 73 species belonging to 33 families and 58 genera, the most important Fabaceae, Sapindaceae, Myrtaceae and Lauraceae. The curve collector tended to stabilize in the last two installments. The fragment shows secondary stage characteristics intermediate forest succession.
