Resumo: Under threat of extinction due to a long period of extraction without rationality made by humanity, the Araucaria angustifolia reaches height of up to 50 meters diameter at breast height up to 2.5 m, occurring in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. The dominant of the canopy of mixed Floresta Ombrófila Mista (FOM), was the main Brazilian product for manufacture of furniture and houses, with high volumes of exports between the years of 1930 to 1970. The present work focuses on the deployment of an orchard with two different provenances of the species, being a native of Guarapuava-PR and another Palmeira-SC. The planting was conducted in an experimental area of the UTFPR Dois Vizinhos-PR, between the months of July 2016, in spacing of 5 m x 5 m.Were planted 285 seedlings of 19 progenies in three installments linear (repetitions)of each progeny, each containing 5 seedlings. Soil preparation was done before planting, by chiseling on line. The pits of planting were opened manually with hoes, being applied 750 ml of hydrogels in each pit. The plants were evaluated during the first six months after planting for: index of survival and mortality of seedlings, stem diameter, total height, two diameters of copa, tortuosity and force. The data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and means comparison test Scott Knott. The highest means of CAD were the Palmeira-SC (13.23, 13.12 and 13,07mm) while the smaller ones were the Guarapuava (11.02 and 11.2 mm) and coefficient of variation (8.56%). The greater heights were the Palmeira (72.8 and 71.5 cm) and the lowest (54 and 55 cm) of Guarapuava, the CV% was 5.19%. The largest areas of projection of copa (0.283 and 0.267 m²) were the Palmeira and Guarapuava obtained the lowest (0.179 and 0.178 m²) the CV% was 15.99%. The relative growth of the progenies of Paraná stood out in time (27.65%) while the progenies of Santa Catarina presented below (19.94%).With the present study it was possible to verify that the seedlings of Santa Catarina were those that best adapted to the climate of Dois Vizinhos and presented data top forestry, but the tendency of the progenies of Paraná, in accordance with the CR %, is the future exceed the other partners with growth rates of minors.
