Resumo: The dictionaries were during generations one of the best tools to accumulate the knowledge acquired by man. However, the advent of new information technologies and the advance of the internet brought a new concept of storage and diffusion of knowledge, which to passed on to process more quickly among people. On the other hand, it generates a new problem for updates and accessed knowledge updates. In this context, the present project sought to create an thematic online dictionary, on the WIX platform, from the contents of Vertebrate Zoology for High School. The lexical repertoire was selected through consulting three high school books, considering only the thematic of Vertebrate Zoology. The meanings were obtained from technical-scientific books of Zoology. Additionally, on the site, entries and their meanings were associated with pictures, and links to streamline and facilitate learning. Were cataloged 203 entries, which were organized in alphabetical order and had their meanings filled in accordance with the most up-to-date information in the area. The online dictionary site was named "VertebraDicio". As far as possible, words were interconnected and correlated with images as a learning facilitation mechanism. The intention is to continue supplying the site with more words and features. In the end, it is expected that this tool will be more attractive and diversified, with a visual and linguistic proposal closer to this generation of students, assisting in comprehension these and their different needs. In addition, it is intended to stimulate the teacher to propose new pedagogical practices that may reduce the volume of lectures. And give him the possibility to use the tool in many ways. Be in aid the content provided by the textbook, or dynamizing their practices in a school context that lacks materials and is inserted in a technological world that develops every day.
