A. parvifolium, popularly known as guatambu-amarelo, is considered a plant of tree size, with ecological and economic importance, in construction and landscaping, occurring in the Atlantic Forest. The understanding of its reproductive characteristics and seed quality are essential variables for using and conservation of the species. The objective of this study was to characterize aspects of the floral biology of A. parvifolium, as well as to measure fruits and quantify seeds by fruit, analyzing physical and physiological parameters and the potential of seeds germination. The work was carried out in the year 2017, at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná. The study was divided in two phases, where the first one aimed the analysis of pollen viability, anthesis and floral senescence, percentage and measurement of fruits produced. In the second phase, seeds were analysed for water content, weight of one thousand seeds, percentage of germination, exudate pH, total soluble solids (°Brix), phytosanity and electrical conductivity. The maximum point for the flower buds was established at 18:00 hours and the species has a high pollen viability rate, with more than 90% of viable pollens. The percentage of fruits produced was low, with only 16%. The weight of one thousand seeds was of 113,5g with water content of 15,55%. After 05 days, the seeds began the germination process, reaching 83% of germinated seeds. The electrical conductivity and the °Brix were the analyses that presented more satisfactory results, therefore, these tests can be applied to verify the viability of a lot of seeds of A. parvifolium. There was a high incidence of pathogenic fungi in newly collected A. parvifolium seeds, mainly Fusarium sp. and Colletotrichum sp. All the information available here is important for the characterization of the species, as well as data that assists its preservation and economic production. 2020-11-13T13:08:38Z 2020-11-13T13:08:38Z 2017-06-22 bachelorThesis OTALAKOSKI, Josiane.
