Faced with this ever-growing demand, structures are needed for animal welfare, and for this there are some systems for this purpose. The Compost Barn is a great option for the comfort of the herd, was created in the United States, and after a few years Brazil started to gain adepts. This system has as its purpose to improve animal welfare and consequently increase the productivity of herds. The advantage that Compost Barn system has over other confinement systems such as Free Stall is the cost of implantation, which is shown to be significantly lower, the excellent quality fertilizer that is formed by the bed together with animal waste, and can be commercialized generating extra income. One of the main problems in dairy farming is economic viability, several factors contribute to this problem being increasingly constant, including the lack of management and knowledge about rural management. The objective of this work was to study the economic and financial viability of the implementation of the Compost Barn system, to that was lifted the total cost of implementation of the development through a questionnaire in an interview with the owners, after were made projections of costs and revenues in a horizont of ten years, based on inflation in previous years and using the minimum rate of attractiveness (8.5). In sequence, the techniques of investment analysis were applied, Profitability Index (PI), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), and Payback, investment recovery period, through multi-index methodology implemented in the Economic Feasibility Analysis System of Projects of Investments (SAVEPI), which generated the results, in which the (NPV) was positive and accepted, with a result of R $ 6,876,597.00 over 10 years. The (IRR) resulted in 28.49%, this allows to categorize this investment as low / medium risk level (20% to 40%). The Profitability Index showed that for each R $ 1.00 invested, it will have a return of R $ 2.68, equivalent to a gain of 10.38% per year, in addition to the TMA (8.5%). The Payback period showed that in 5 years the investment will be paid. By means of these results, it can be concluded that the implantation of Compost Barn is viable. Based on this work, a new alternative for an intensive system of milk production is presented. A atividade leiteira no Brasil tem grande importância pelo fato de estar entre os cinco maiores em produção no mundo, da qual muitos produtores rurais dependem dela para o sustendo da família. Diante dessa demanda crescente, são necessárias estruturas que visam o bem-estar animal, e para isso existem alguns sistemas com esse propósito. O Compost Barn é uma ótima opção para o conforto do rebanho, o qual foi criado nos Estados Unidos, e após alguns anos o Brasil começou a ganhar adeptos. Esse sistema tem como intuito melhorar o bem-estar animal e consequentemente aumentar a produtividade dos rebanhos. A vantagem que o sistema Compost Barn tem sobre outros sistemas de confinamento como o Free Stall, é o custo de implantação, que se mostra significativamente menor, o adubo de excelente qualidade que é formado pela cama juntamente com os dejetos dos animais, e pode ser comercializada gerando renda extra. Um dos principais problemas na pecuária leiteira é a viabilidade econômica, vários fatores contribuem para sua constância, como a falta de gerenciamento e conhecimento sobre administração rural. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a viabilidade econômica e financeira de implantação do sistema Compost Barn, para isso foi levantado o custo total de implantação do empreendimento através de um questionário aplicado em entrevista com os proprietários. Após o mesmo, foi feito projeções dos custos e receitas estimados em um horizonte de dez anos, baseando-se na inflação dos anos anteriores e usando a taxa mínima de atratividade (8,5%). Na sequência foram aplicadas as técnicas de análises de investimento, (IL) Índice de Lucratividade, (TIR) Taxa Interna de Retorno, (VPL) Valor Presente Líquido e Payback, período de recuperação do investimento, por meio da metodologia multi-índice, implementada no Sistema de Análise de Viabilidade Econômica de Projetos de Investimentos (SAVEPI), que gerou os resultados de (VPL) positivo e aceito, com um resultado de R$ 1.143.083,25 em 10 anos. A (TIR) resultou em 13,67%, isso permite categorizar esse investimento como risco de nível/grau médio-alto (60% a 80%). O índice de Lucratividade mostrou que para cada R$ 1,00 investido, terá um retorno de R$ 1,28, isso é equivalente a um ganho de 2,50% ao ano, além da TMA (8,5%). O período Payback mostrou que em 8 anos o investimento estará pago. Por meio destes resultados, pode-se concluir que a implantação do Compost Barn é viável.
