Resumo: The aim of this study was to estimate heritabilities and genetic correlations in the production of beef cattle, specifically in cold forming characteristics at weaning, yearling conformation cold, yearling weight and average daily gain from weaning to yearling, as tools for selection. The database refers to the post weaning performance of Nelore cattle comprising 6989 animals analyzed using Bayesian procedures using Gibbs sampling. For full features genetic parameters were estimated by univariate and bivariate analyzes that included the fixed effects sex, month of birth and diet separately and contemporary groups with a total of 96 groups. The mean observed characteristics, weight adjusted to 485 days SOBPA, GPDS, DESCF, SOBCF and their respective standard deviations were equal to 0,12; 0,70; 0,73 and 0,33 with coefficient of variation of 19,01, 54,01, 28,69 and 25,66% respectively. Heritability estimates were equal to 0,12 for SOBPA; DESCF to 0,70; SOBCF 0,73 and 0,33 for GP. Genetic correlations involving features not provide indirect selection of a feature by another.
