Thus, knowledge in relation to existing pastures as well as their nutritional characteristics are essential. Therefore, the aim was to determine the nutritional value of Tifton 85 and Coastcross through grazing simulation technique using dairy cows throughout the occupation period in the poles. The experiment was conducted at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR), Campus Dois Vizinhos. The experimental area consisted of six paddocks of 300 m² (20x15) with spacing between pickets of 1.0 meters, a total of 1900 m². The seedlings were planted in spacing of 0.6 meters between rows and 0.5 meters between plants. The forages were evaluated by hand plucking every entry and exit of animals in pastures, considering two daily milkings. The occupancy time was two days, which created four samples of material picket every grazing period. The stocking rate was calculated from an offer of 5% being used animals of the teaching unit and the dairy production research. The height of the fodder was measured with a graduated ruler before the entry of animals in pickets. Samples of grazing simulation were dried, crushed and analyzed in the laboratory of food analysis UTFPR where we obtained the values of dry matter, crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), mineral matter MM), and in vitro digestibility of dry matter (DM). The experimental design was completely randomized with two treatments (cultivars), three repetitions of area and four collection times. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and the variables that were significant were subjected to regression analysis in the statistical program Genes, considering the probability of error of 5%. The Tifton 85 cultivars and Coastcross had similar nutritional value over the days of occupation. NDF, ADF and IVDMD not change its percentage over the hours of grazing, registering average values of 65.55%, 31.63% and 81% respectively. The variables height and PB decreased with the increase of grazing time, and MM showed a linear increase with each passing hour. 2020-11-13T13:55:47Z 2020-11-13T13:55:47Z 2015-11-25 bachelorThesis REFFATTI, Tiane Sueli.
