Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the management employed in properties of buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) relating to the parasitological behavior that affects the herd and zootechnical indexes, within the period from June 2013 to December 2013. The study was conducted with 28 crossbred Mediterranean with Murrah, consisting of extensively-reared males, females and calves. The property is located in Cruzeiro do Iguaçu, on the banks of the Iguazú River in the southwestern region of Paraná. For the parasitological monitoring, the counting of eggs per gram of feces (EPG) was performed. The animals are wormed at birth and on their 40th day of age, and receiving just the mouth disease vaccine. The animals were kept in one paddock with predominantly tropical carpet grass (Axonopus compressus Sw), and received only mineral salt supplementation, and during the evaluated period the animals showed improved body score of on in a on to five rating scale. The management employed on the farm do not promote the development of high parasitic load of worms, also taking into account the high resistance of the buffalo. It wasn’t necessary the use of anthelmintics, for not having the OPG parasite eggs in harming levels to the animals.
