The experiment was developed at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, in the city of Dois Vizinhos PR, the experimental area was consisted of six paddocks of 300 m² (20x15) with spacing between pickets of 1.0 meters, totalizing 1,900 m². Seedlings were planted in spacing of 0.6 meters between rows and 0.5 meters between plants. The Tifton 85 and Coastcross were evaluated. Aiming to make a comparison between the cultivars, it were collected data on total dry matter, leaf blade matter (MSLF), matter stem + sheath (MSC), dead material, other species, in addition to nutritional value in blade portions leaf (LF), stem (CB) and whole plant (PI).The fertilization was 20 kg N ha 1 as urea every two cuts. The samples were collected through cuts close to the ground when the pastures reached 25 cm in height and it were made 3cuts 0.25 m2 in each paddock / repeatition. The stocking rate was calculated from an offer of 5% using lactating animals of Unepe, with occupancy of two days. The samples after drying were triturated and sent to the laboratory of food analysis of UTFPR Campus Dois Vizinhos, being realized analyzes to determine the dry matter (DM), mineral matter (MM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) fiber in acid detergent (FDA), crude protein (CP) and in vitro digestibility of dry matter (DM). The total production of MS, MSLF, MSC and dead material between the cultivars didn't differ significantly, however, between cutting periods the dead material was lower for the first cut (P <0.05) rising in later. About the nutritional value, MM values didn't differ among cultivars, or over the evaluation period, the PB cultivar Coastcross was superior to the grass Tifton 85 for the LF and PI didn't differ for CB, for the same variable significant differences between periods were observed. For NDF LF, lower levels were found to Coastcross, not differing among cultivars for PI and CB. ADF contents didn't differ among the cultivars for CB, being lower in the LF and PI to cultivate Coastcross, in this variable when comparing the periods it was observed increasing levels of FDA in the first PI for subsequent periods. The IVDMD didn't present significant differences for cultivars, however, evaluating the periods, it was found higher values in the first period. O objetivo do presente trabalho consistuiu em avaliar a produção e o valor nutritivo de diferentes cultivares de Cynodon no Sudoeste do Paraná. O experimento foi desenvolvido na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, no município de Dois Vizinhos PR, a área experimental foi constituída de 6 piquetes de 300 m² (20x15), com espaçamento entre piquetes de 1,0 metro, totalizando 1900 m². As mudas foram implantadas em espaçamento de 0,6 metros entre linhas e 0,5 metros entre plantas. As pastagens avaliadas foram as cultivares Tifton 85 e Coastcross. Visando efetuar um comparativo entre as cultivares, foram coletados os dados referentes a produção de matéria seca total, massa de lâmina foliar (MSLF), massa de colmo + bainha (MSC), material morto, outras espécies, além do valor nutritivo, nas porções lâmina foliar (LF), colmo+bainha (CB) e planta inteira (PI). A adubação foi de 20 kg de N ha 1 na forma de uréia a cada dois pastejos. As amostras foram coletadas por meio de cortes rente ao solo sempre que as pastagens atingiram 25 centímetros de altura, sendo efetuados 3 cortes de 0,25 m2 em cada piquete/repetição. A carga animal foi calculada a partir de uma oferta de 5% sendo utilizados os animais lactantes da Unepe de bovinocultura de leite. Com ocupação de dois dias. As amostras depois de secas foram trituradas e encaminhadas para o laboratório de análise de alimentos da UTFPR Câmpus Dois Vizinhos, sendo realizadas as análises de determinação de matéria seca (MS), matéria mineral (MM), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN), fibra em detergente ácido (FDA), proteína bruta (PB) e digestibilidade in vitro da matéria seca (DIVMS). A produção de MS total, MSLF, MSC e material morto das cultivares não se diferiram significativamente, porém, entre os períodos de pastejo o material morto foi menor para o primeiro (P<0,05) elevando se nos posteriores. Quanto ao valor nutritivo os valores de MM não se diferiram entre as cultivares, nem ao longo dos períodos avaliados, a PB da cultivar Coastcross se mostrou superior ao capim Tifton 85 para a LF e PI, não diferindo para CB, para essa mesma variável, não foram observadas diferenças significativas entre os períodos. Para FDN da LF os menores teores foram encontrados para a Coastcross, não se diferindo entre as cultivares para PI e CB. Os teores de FDA não se diferiram entre as cultivares para CB, sendo inferiores na LF e PI para a cultivar Coastcross, nesta variável quando comparado com os períodos observou se teores crescentes de FDA na PI do primeiro para os perídos subsequentes.
