Resumo: The aim of this work is to study the effect of the storage period of fertile eggs and its weight on the performance of broiler chickens in real field situations. The research will be carried out in the commercial aviary located at UTFPR DV, for a 28 day period. It was evaluated 200 eggs / broilers, distributed in a completely randomized design in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement, with two storage periods (three and nine days) and two egg weight ranges (<59g light and> 59g heavy) with five re plicates of 10 eggs / birds. The first week mortality will not be considered there will be a replacement of birds over this week . The mortality will be counted from the 8th day without replacing birds . During the experimental period will be measured weekl y feed intake, live weight, weight gain, mortality, feed conversion and feed efficiency. The generated data will be statistically analyzed using the PROC GLM procedure of SASUniversityEdition statistical software (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA), evaluating the isolated effects and interaction between the factors, on the responses variables. It was concluded that light (<59 g) and heavy (> 59 g) eggs, stored at three and nine days, presented the same zootechnical performance in the field.
