Resumo: The intense use of heavy machines in agriculture causes alterations on the physical properties of the soil and problems related with the soil’s compaction, which promote the physical degradation of the same with negative effect for crops development. The compacted layer harms the rooting process and water penetration in the soil. The use of forage species or legumes that transpass those layers can result on the biological decompaction of the soil which will present less degradation. This work had as an objective the determination of the hydraulic pressure exercised over a sample of a latosol, with different humidity’s, on the subject density. This effect was expressed by a mean of regression curves, which may be used on future test with plants that present a soil decompactation potential. The experiment takes place at Federal Technological University of Paraná, located in the Francisco Beltrão County. The soil was collected at profundities between 0 to 20 cm. The treatment were 6 hydraulic press charges (1; 2; 3; 4; 5 and 6 tonne), pressed against soils with different humidity levels (20, 25, 30 and 35%). The determination of the soils density with different humidity levels showed that the bigger the humidity level, the more compaction resulting on a higher density levels. The equations were satisfactory on the indication of humidity parameters e hydraulic press for the density’s result.
