Resumo: This Project consists of analyzing the efficiency and pressure loss of a wave-plate mist eliminator with real data from a Sugar and Alcohol Factory by the methodology of the authors Banitabaei, Rahimzadeh and Rafee (2011). The results obtained were 0.9871 for the efficiency and 326.4301 Pa for the pressure loss. These were excellent results, because the efficiency was close to 1 and the pressure loss close to that expected by the manufacturer. These parameters were also studied by varying some geometric data, such as spacing, bending number and the angle of these curvatures to analyze their behavior, that is, what each one these influence on the efficiency and the pressure loss of the equipment. Therefore, it was found that with increasing spacing between the plates therefore there was a decrease in pressure loss and also the droplet removal efficiency. n relation to the variation of the angle of curvature, it was observed that with its increase there was an improvement in efficiency, but also the loss of pressure increased. And, for the variations in the number of curvatures, it has been obtained that the more curvatures on the plates, the better the efficiency, however, the pressure loss will also increase. An economic-financial analysis for this study was also performed by analyzing three investment decisions, the Net Present Value (NPV), the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and the discounted Payback period. From these data, it can be concluded that the project is economically viable and safe, because the time of return of its investment is relatively short, which also decreases the probability of risks to the Factory in that period.
