Civil construction is an important sector for the country's economy, moving millions of Brazilian reais and generating many jobs in the area. However, it’s the sector responsible for the production of a large amount of waste, due to waste of materials in constructions site and demolition processes. The management of construction waste should include actions for reduction, reuse, recycling and proper disposal of such. Disposing of construction waste in irregular locations can cause various environmental impacts such as: siltation of rivers and lakes, groundwater contamination, urban drainage problems and proliferation of disease vectors. The objective of this work was to analyses the procedures for the collection, transportation and correct disposal of construction waste in the city of Guarapuava-PR, as well as to propose alternatives for their reuse and recycling. Through data collection from the responsible agencies, and visits to the construction waste recycling plant of Guarapuava - PR, it was possible to quantify and qualify the waste generated in the county. The waste that reaches the recycling plant, after undergoing segregation and beneficiation processes, it’s transformed into recycled aggregates, whose characterization in this work occurred in laboratory tests performed in accordance with some Brazilian Regulatory Standards. The situation of civil construction waste, in municipal scope, happened through generation, collection, transportation, sorting area and final disposal, which include the possibilities of reuse and recycling, in addition to the irregular disposal of waste that occurs in the county. |
