Resumo: To meet an increasingly competitive demand in the Brazilian construction market, there is a search for improvements in quality and service. This leads to waste reduction and increased productivity, resulting in new technologies with industrialized characteristics, such as Light Steel Framing (LSF) using cold formed steel profiles (CFS), complete system, fast execution, maintenance and low material waste. With the requirements of users, the standard of performance in buildings are required as NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013), these are performances criteria to be achieved by the building systems and subsystems. Vertical fences are extremely important in residential buildings, despite the dull use of traditional vertical fences with the use of masonry, new materials emerge, allied to the LSF system, satisfying the standard performance criteria. Systems using LSF have varying thicknesses and a diverse range of materials and coatings, such as “Drywall” gypsum boards, OSB “Oriented Strand Board” slabs and cementitious slabs. For the use of these systems in residential buildings, it is necessary to attend the minimum criteria and requirements imposed by the standard. In Brazil, there is a great variability of manufacturers to those systems, as well, providing technical bulletins and catalogs with performance data. The purpose of this work was to compare and analyze this data between the systems of the manufacturers and according to the performance criteria imposed by the standard. The standard NBR 15575-4 (ABNT, 2013) refers to the systems of internal and external vertical seals, with its main criteria being: structural, acoustic, thermal performance, fire safety, just as watertightness. In addition to data collected from manufacturers, performance data were obtained through an analysis of the Technical Assessment Document, which addresses a technical evaluation carried out by the Institute of Technological Research on the Dry Steel Construction System Framing. By collecting data on these systems, it was possible to make a comparison between the manufacturers and the performance standard, in order to determine if all the LSF systems available by the manufacturers are suitable for residential buildings and meet the standard of performance NBR 15575.
