Resumo: The increase in the construction of higher buildings and the implementation of lighter materials, with the aim of reduce the reactions generated by the building weight, ends up having as counterpoint the increase of the loads in these buildings. Where the wind is one of the main loads acting in high buildings and a characteristic of this load is the fluid property, which results in the velocity profile’s temporal variation according to the resistance generated by the terrain at the place where the flow occurs. The change in the way the wind focuses on the building’s facade generates efforts, such as torsion, which have their form of occurrence affected not only by the wind, but also by the physical structure characteristics. Therefore the present loads can be treated in a static way, which is a type of approach adopted by ABNT (1988) NBR 6123 or experimentally, with data obtained from small-scale buildings. In this way the present work studies through theoretical and experimental analytical forms the parameters established by the Brazilian wind norm for the twist generated by the effect of the neighborhood, considering that in studies on twisting made by other authors, it is necessary to analyze this limit.
