The rapid and disordered growth of cities has many problems with land use and occupation changes. With regard to water resources, they can be greatly affected by the changes imposed by the urbanization of the watersheds, which impacts on the hydrological cycle with increasing, greater severity and frequency of floods and also degradation of the urban environment. As the city becomes urbanized and waterproofed, there are many factors that act meaninglessly to cause or aggravate urban flooding. In an attempt to circumvent or alleviate these problems, many studies experiment with solutions that compensate for the effects of urbanization and control flooding to reduce the economic damage caused. These solutions are called compensatory techniques and aim to keep the hydrological cycle closer to the natural basin, especially with regard to runoff rates. The application of control measures at the source has the objective of reducing and preventing the runoff before this entry into the drainage system. Among the compensatory techniques, the batch micro-reservoirs with wide use potential aim to store a portion of the deposits in reservoirs and, thus, reduce and delay the surface runoff peaks. The present work seeks to measure and evaluate the costs of these micro-reservoirs in a risk area in the Marrecas River basin in the municipality of Francisco Beltrão-PR, or the one that has been experiencing increasingly severe flooding since the time of its colonization. The design was performed based on three distinct methods, indicating the feasibility of using this measure for the analyzed region, with a low incidence of its cost in relation to the construction costs of buildings. |
