The problems related with the electric energy standards and the demand cause many coupling disorders on the country side, mainly because fields associated to agribusiness activities require uncommon devices. The objective of this report is to activate a 1/3 CV three-phase electric induction motor via a 127 V one-phase source by using a high power factor converter. Essentially, the converter is constructed by a complete wave rectifier which is improved by a discontinuous boost converter. The last stage is basically a three-phase inverter which converts the DC power into AC power in order to run an induction motor. Finally, the switching of the stages are accomplished by using a PWM circuit. In order to ensure a stable operation it is necessary a scalar control system which will be studied in this text. As final result, the components characteristics of each stage will be provided and a simulation of the main system in order to evaluate the converter viability for a future implementation. |
