Resumo: The objective of this work is the static structural sizing of a chassis of a Gooseneck trailer in “W” beam profile, using the finite element analysis method using the Inventor 2019 software. The factor that led to the development of this work was the need for a Brazilian trailer manufacturer. A simplified structural model of the finite element trailer was generated, which is determined via DFMEA, the regions of greatest concern, the welds being identified as such and their stresses calculated. In addition, three forms of connection between structure members, the stringers and the neck pillar were studied. The calculations for the evaluated profiles were very robust, with high safety factor. As the welds have been shown to satisfactorily withstand the static stresses to be submitted.
