The present assignment’s main topic is the environmental urban perception as a public management tool. This research’s purpose was the environmental perception of a group composed by interviewed individuals from the urban and rural scenario in Nova Fátima town, situated in the state of Paraná, Brasil, regarding some specific
waste issues and the impacts related. We sought to feature the perception of these interviewed individuals about environmental problems and damage, the waste, dangerous waste, and their implications to the environment and population. We featured the environmental perception of 382 interviewed individuals, in a manner that we divided the individuals in two sectors: the first one characterized by the urban zone dwellers and the second one by the rural zone dwellers. As an instrument of investigation, it was applied a semi-structured interview through a questionnaire developed for this purpose. The investigated population believes that the society is the main cause for the environmental damage, and the better way to minimize the impacts caused by the waste is through environmental education campaigns, and the disclosure and clarification of the impacts caused by the electronic waste and its correct disposal form is necessary. |
