This certification is important because it aims at the sustainable development of the construction industry favoring the environmental performance of enterprises. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the environmental sustainability of the present building (Block B) of the Federal Technological University of Paraná - Campus Londrina, with the focus on category LEED-EB (Existing Buildings). Therefore, a literature review was conducted to certify the knowledge, an analysis on the impact and growth of construction in the Brazilian context and contribution of this sector in PIB of the country. In addition, an assessment was made of the life cycle of buildings, the development of sustainable construction and a brief explanation of environmental certifications for buildings which value the sustainability. The results and discussions, was made the interpretation of the LEED for Existing Buildings Manual applied to Block B of UTFPR and quantifying the score obtained by this. Finally, an adaptation of Chek-List for existing buildings with the help of LEED Guide for Schools and adaptations of Brazilian standards was made, serving to facilitate their use and even proposed as the preparation of certification for Existing Universities. Thus the present study found that LEED needs some adaptations that meet the priorities, technological conditions and Brazilian needs, making the most viable certification to companies. A certificação LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) é um selo ambiental para edificações sustentáveis, elaboradonos Estados Unidos da América no ano de 2007. O selo LEED é de suma importância, por possui como o desenvolvimento sustentável do setor de construção civil, proporcionando assim um desempenho ambiental dos empreendimentos. Dentro deste contexto, o objetivo geral deste trabalho foi avaliar a sustentabilidade ambiental em uma das edificações presentes (bloco B) da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná – Campus Londrina, com o enfoque na categoria LEED-EB (Construções Existentes).Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica para conhecimento da certificação, uma análise quanto ao impacto e ao crescimento da construção civil no cenário brasileiro e contribuição desse setor no PIB do país. Além disso, foi feita uma avaliação do ciclo de vida das edificações, o desenvolvimento do conceito de construção sustentável e uma breve explicação sobre certificações ambientais para edificações aos quais prezam a sustentabilidade. Nos resultados e discussões, foi feito a interpretação do manual LEED para Construções Existentes aplicado ao Bloco B da UTFPR e a quantificação da pontuação obtida por este. Por fim, foi feita umaadaptação do Chek-List para prédios existentes com auxílio do Manual LEED for Schools e com adaptações de normas brasileiras, servindo para facilitar a sua utilização e até mesmo como proposta da elaboração da certificação para Universidades Existentes.
