Sustainability indicators was made by United Nations as a product of Agenda 21, and it help in cities and nations’ planning. The study of these indicators in a metro areas is important for the sustainable planning of them. The center of this study was the Londrina metro area which has influence in the state scenario. The database is provided by a Brazilian Institute which collect those data by a demographic census that is done each 10 years. The sanitation, object of this thesis, is one of the categories that help in the formulation of a life qualities’ index. To reach the objectives of this thesis were uses tools as Moran’s index and LISA, thematic maps, Pearson coefficients, scatter plots and exploratory data analysis (EDA). It’s important to highlight that 14.3% of the census tracts are rural and 87.3% are urban tracts. Through the analyzes was possible to verify a pattern distribution for urban and rural, which showed that the water supply and sewage via general network, and solid waste collection by a collecting company with approximately 67%, 52% and 69% of the census tracts respectively. On the other hand, rural areas show a standardization for water supply via well or river spring with approximately 16% of the tracts, sewage via rudimentary septic tank with 30% of the census sectors and the burning of the residues in approximately 15.34% of the sectors. By means of scatter plots for the influence of socioeconomic data, such as income and schooling, it has been shown that there are no trends for the provision of services. In addition, the temporal analysis between the census of 2000 and 2010 indicated advances in water supply and sanitary sewage through general network and solid waste collection by a collecting company in the city of Londrina. |
