Resumo: The problem of silting up reservoirs in hydroelectric plants is an extremely important event, since it makes the use of the reservoir unfeasible, causing the plant to be deactivated. Thus, it is essential that studies be carried out to know the surroundings of the reservoir, in order to avoid unprotected areas or areas susceptible to erosion. The use of Geographic Information Systems arises to make more efficient, in this case, the analysis of the reservoir environment, since these tools allow the application of techniques, which suppose the need to make the measurement directly in the place, since there are areas Difficult to access. The present work presents the use of the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), in the generation of a risk letter of soil loss where it was possible to analyze the annual erosion rate that a soil can suffer by means of variables Such as erosivity, erodibility, ramp length, slope slope, soil cover and applied conservation practices, it can be concluded from the results that the application of the USLE model was shown to be satisfactory in order to identify the Vulnerable areas for soil loss. In this study, we also attempted to make an analysis of the water quality found upstream in the reservoir and downstream from samples made by Duke Energy professionals, and compare these analyzes with what is proposed as standard by Resolution n° 357 of CONAMA, aiming to evaluate some qualitative impact due to anthropic and natural activities. By means of this comparison it can be said that all the sample points are shown within the expected for a class II river so that the construction of the dam did not affect the quality of the water according to what is proposed by the legislation. It was also possible to do a study about the flow measurements that were provided, since the measurements corresponded to 32 years of daily measurements, a characteristic methodology was applied for permanence curves and it was possible to understand the behavior of the river flows and say that this study is essential for designing the generation of electricity from a power plant. In this way it is possible to say that it is extremely important that studies and monitoring be made both of the surroundings of the reservoir and of its waters, in order to have a good operation of the plant, so as not to damage the body of water and improve the the soil surrounding the reservoir.
