Resumo: Efficiency compares what has been produced, given the resources available, with what could have been produced with the same resources. The performance analysis has become of fundamental importance for all companies, as it is a process that will systematically and standardize the values, quality and excellence of a company's processes. The overall objective of this study was to analyze the efficiency of the printing process of a packaging company and its impact on the decision process, by analyzing the waste of raw material (operational failures); answer which machine was the most efficient; analyze the literature on methods of efficiency analysis and propose an efficiency analysis method for this company. The method used in the research was that of the Case Study, which validated the evaluation of the efficiency through the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) tool in a descriptive, qualitative and quantitative way. The company analyzed was a multinational of packaging, located in Londrina-PR that has a staff of approximately 1200 employees, the study will be applied in one of the sectors of the company that represents the first stage of the productive process of transformation of polymers, which counts with 5 machines that print plastic films by Rotogravure process. It was verified that the highest efficiency ratios are from September 2017 to August 2018, where Impressora 12, Impressora 9 and Impressora 11 were. However, the machines with the worst performances were Impressora 10 followed by Impressora 15, which presented a very large discrepancy compared to other machines, with final index 0.407, only in May not getting worse among the 5 printers. The study sought justifications for such results in the company's indicators and found the company's Setup as a significant influence on production performance.
