The present work verified the potential for the Canavalia ensiformis legume in the decontamination of soils with lead, since this metal can be subject to damages to man, animals and many living beings. Jobs point out from 70 mg. kg -1, the soil already presents with complications. The methodology employed had its quantitative consistency, in relation to the amount of lead phytoextracted by the plant. Initially it was verified if there would be lead in the soil used for the plant cultivation. Then, 12 legume samples were grown and divided into three plots, using three samples per sample and three copies of a single concentration. The first plot is as a source of contamination 5 g of lead acetate (II). In the second and third parts, 10 and 15 mg of lead acetate (II) were shared in 1 L of Milli-Q water. The exposure time of the plant contaminated with the metal lasted for 20 days and the last time this time, as parts of the plants grown in all plots were removed and submitted to sample preparation. These were dried, ground, digested and analyzed quantitatively by atomic absorption spectroscopy. As percentages of lead present in the three plots of 0.485%, 0.377% and 0.470%, respectively. In this way, the potentiality of a Canavalia silage legume with phytoextractor capacity was verified. |
