Resumo: Studies concerning polymers, especially the conducting ones, have been more and more intensified worldwide. Polyaniline, being a conducting polymer obtained through anilyne polymerization, have been gaining attention due to its easy synthesis and economic viabilility. Therefore, this final course assignment intends to analyse the chemical syntheses rout of polyaniline and its utilization. This polymer is composed of aromatic rings or linear chains containg double C=C conjugated bonds. This class of materials presents some interesting properties such as: electrical conductivity, electrocromism and semiconductor behaviour, which make it useful for applications like batteries, electrocromic devices, capacitors and others. In this final course assignment, we will study the chemical synthesis rout of polyaniline. The samples will be analyzed by different methods such as vibrational infrared spectroscopy, electrical conductivity using the four point probe techinique and thermal gravimetric analysis.
