Resumo: Poor occupancy of areas near river basins has negative impacts on both humans and the environment. One of the methods of study to have greater knowledge about the behavior of a watershed (such as flood periods, flood susceptibility and degree of slope) is the morphometric analysis. Through it, one can have information necessary for the proper occupation of areas and management of the resources present in it. This study aimed to perform the morphometric analysis of the Cascavel Watershed in the county of Cascavel – PR, with the help of techniques and geoprocessing programs, as well as to determine the maximum design flow for a possible water treatment plant. With the results obtained in the parameters form factor, circularity index and compactness coefficient, it was inferred that the basin under study has no tendency to flood. The maximum project flow obtained was considered high, in the amount of 374.5 m³/s, being this the safety value supported for a work of water treatment plant.
