The urbanization process has led to many alterations on the natural environment, and to control these issues, multi-temporal analysis and geotechnical mapping become instruments that help in monitoring and analyzing processes involving the urban environment. Considering the importance of geotechnical analysis to implement conservation techniques, this paper aims to analyze and geotechnically map the urban and peri-urban area of the city of Medianeira. It was possible to develop the thematic map of land use, in order to carry out the identification of expanding urban areas of 2003, 2006 and 2014 using Google Earth Pro software. Moreover, thematic soil maps were also developed using Global Mapper software, and a slope map was prepared using Spring software, to later be used as a basis for the preparation of the environmental vulnerability map, which is used to identify areas of low and high fragility. Finally, it was prepared the map of restriction of urban sprawl based on the environmental vulnerability map. These mappings have proved to be of great importance to the proper occupation of the territory, since they include different components of the environment, enabling a better understanding of the limits and potentials of the area to be occupied. Therefore, this mapping can support urban and environmental planning of the city of Medianeira. |
